You see this title and ask yourself, “What am I talking about?”. If you recall, Republican President George Bush did not defeat his opponent Al Gore; the supreme court handed Bush his win. Republican President Donald Trump received over 3-million fewer popular votes than his opponent Hillary Clinton in 2016 and still received the Presidency!

Fast forward to the 2020 election… President Trump lost his re-election by almost 8-million popular votes, with opponent Joe Biden receiving a greater number (306) than required of electoral votes (270 to be exact) to become our next President. The Republican outgoing President Trump is refusing to concede his loss while spending millions upon millions of dollars trying to overturn the election results! This type of behavior resembles that of a coup taking place in a third world country. This is very, very destructive to our democracy and freedom, especially in the midst of a rising COVID-19 pandemic! Here is what’s really frightening concerning President Trump’s coup-like actions; he has the support of the Republicans, all of whom were re-elected, in addition to 70+ million like-minded Americans who voted for Trump! This is evidence of a divided nation! Mr. Trump lost the 2020 election by more votes than any winning president in history.

Dangerous times are upon us, with people out of work struggling to buy food and to maintain housing, and a virus with no immediate end in sight!

Hard times have a way of revealing racial inequalities, and in some cases, can lead to outright racism.

I think Joe Biden would have defeated Trump by a much larger margin had he picked Elizabeth Warren for his running mate. Divide and conquer is what we have here, and 90% of Americans will be the losers in this game, never to return. We must preserve our Democracy and freedom in America; we cannot allow ourselves to be misdirected.

There has never been a time that has affected so many people’s lives economically like today, and Donald Trump’s efforts to rewrite the election have shown his lack of morality to the world.

The time is now for change if we as Americans are going to survive and to provide a future for our children.
