I am talking about this economic system of which we all are a part. I remember as a child, the stores had a very limited amount of assorted foods and other supplies, only a drop compared to the mega-supermarkets of today. Back then a loaf of bread was $.16 and the minimum wage was $.25 to $.50 cents an hour for Black people. As you see $.16 cents for a loaf of bread back then was a lot of money. Today that same loaf of bread could cost as much as $5.00 a loaf, and the minimum wage today is $10.00 an hour, as you can see nothing has really changed, you earn more money but the cost of goods and services have increased. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer. You would think after 100 years of freedom people would have realized real freedom is being independent, not having 1% of the people owning the majority of the wealth and resources. I call this modern-day slavery, again everything remains the same. How is this possible for so long as it continues to this day you ask? The answer is very simple, keep people fighting among themselves as some think they are better than others, segregation, discrimination, unequal justice, and education between the whites and the people of color, they don’t have time to think outside the box, allowing the controlling to continue. This has and continues to go on until this very day! Everything remains the same for the rich, with the exception of them getting richer as the poor get poorer and larger in numbers. To my surprise, poor white people are in the same boat as people of color, with the exception of the needed so-called middle-class who are slowly becoming declassified. The rich own everything from the beginning to this very day and care only for themselves. For your life and environment to change, you must change otherwise everything remains the same! I think capitalism is a great system, the cancer of greed has destroyed it, as religious leaders seem to have put money before God.
